Old (??) friends from the past..

June 25, Wednesday
Bob and Linda stopped in today from their home in Pokomoke City. We're all from Millersville U. and Bob and I traveled to So Cal after my graduation. We taught in the Paramounnt USD for a year, at which time I met Carol.

Bob returned to PA, while I stayed in the "golden land"!!

Paul loves those puzzles- especially the ones with one piece missing!!

We played plenty of pinochle and although Paul and I generally win due to being superior pinochle players, we had to concede a few hands- like Judy's lay down "lucky" hand!!??

Here's Megan reading our sister city book- "Sweet Corn and Sushi" to Lauren.

Rehoboth Beach

June 22, Sunday
Today we drove to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to meet up with Judy and Paul and their family for a week.

First we went south to Cape May, NJ where we had breakfast.

Next we took the ferry across the Delaware Bay to the Delmarva Peninsula (Delaware, Maryland and Virginia).

We found Judy along with Jennifer and Liam in the backyard pool.

They have a great half house and we have an apartment behind- (without the kids).

Here's Todd trying his hand at "ball and cup"- KAMI-FUSEN.

Meg made a great vegetarian dinner.

Lauren loves it all........

Here's Sean trying to sell everyone a used car!!

Is that paint under my nails??

June 18, Tuesday
This morning I drove to Lititz to help Paul do some painting on their new addition and renovation. He drove up from Rehoboth and I drove down from Bushkill.........

We got it all done and it was nice time with Paul, including a great cheese steak from Nino's...............

Once we left Buckhill, we traveled to Nazareth, PA where Martin guitars are made. We took the tour and it took me back to the 60's, when I would get their scrap mahogany, rosewood and ebony for $15 per car truck load!!

From here we proceded on to Island Heights, NJ, where my family had a "cabin" at the shore. My father made every piece of it by himself, from the cinder blocks to the well.
Here we met with Keith, the grandson of our neighbor Bob Spill and the present owner of both properties. It was really a trip down memory lane for me.That night we spent in the "skuzz bucket" motel in Seaside Beach and walked the boards (boardwalk). They certainly weren't what I remembered as a kid...........

Bushkill Falls- PA

June 13, FRIDAY!!
After a short stay at Connie and Fred's, we were off to Bushkill, PA for a timeshare exchange close to Debbie's school for a week.
We have a nice place at Bushkill right a Delaware Water Gap.

Dennis joined us for the weekend and we all hiked the falls at Bushkill Falls.

There is of plenty walking around in various falls and STEPS!!!

During the day, when Deb was working at her school, we toured around the sights of Delaware Water Gap. Here we are having lunch at Shawnee on the Delaware and very old and popular hotel and golf course. Presidents and stars visited it in the past, like Dwight Eisenhower and Jackie Gleason.

Another day we hiked along the Delaware. Here we are looking back across to Shawnee on the Delaware.

That same hike, we can across this cliff and these kids were jumping off of it. This kid (?) happened to be an ex-student of Deb's.
