Day 1- Osaka

After a great Japanese and Western breakfast at the Dai-ichi Hotel, we took the subway to near Osaka Castle. To finish out trip there, we traveled by riverboat to and around Osaka Castle.
Osaka Castle was great.

For lunch we went to "old town" Shinsekai- Osaka where we enjoyed lunch and the unique atmosphere. Stan, Roque and I went up Tsutenkaku Tower.

On the way we stopped at a Pachinko Parlor.

For dinner we went to a special Tempura restaurant with traditional tables. We had the special "Hanshu Tigers" tempura plate- it was great!!

It was a great day...........and evening

Saturday, Oct. 2

We normally just blog when we are on a trip, but this day was really special.

In the morning and afternoon, I attended a meeting of the Inland Empire Woodturners. It had David Ellsworth as a guest speaker and presenter. David is a world know, world class woodturner and spent much of his life in S.E. Penna. He was really good and I learned quite a bit.

That evening, Carol and I went to South Coast Winery outside of Temecula and went to a concert by Kenny G. We had front row seats. It was absolutely great, what else can I say!!!
