Snorkeling Poipu

Snorkeling at Poipu..........

 Looking back at the Waiohai.

There was a Monk Seal sleeping in the rocks- they're protected. A loose dog made the seal go  from the sand back  into the water. Then with so many people around, it decided to go into the rocks to sleep. They hunt all night and sleep most of the day. Normally, a life guard sets up protective tape around the seal (20- 30 feet) so it won't be bothered by people.
You can see where a tracking device was glued on it's skin/ fur.

a typical day at the Waiohai..........

The timeshare has a  great kitchen, dining area and living room.....
We were on the first floor and could walk directly across to the "quiet" pool, jacuzzi and gas grills- a location  I always try to get.

We had breakfast at Joe's on the Green, a great breakfast place on the closest golf course........................ kind of a tradition.

Grand Canyon of the Pacific

We started by driving to Koke'e State Park and looking over Kalalua Valley to the Na Pali Coast.
Royce and Gina had taken a cruise with Capt. Andy the day before to Na Pali on a sunset cruise.
We saw this beautiful double rainbow- end to end.

On the way down the mountain we stopped at the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" in Waimea Canyon State Park.

At the bottom of the mountain we stopped at Waimea Brewing Co. for lunch. It's part of the Plantation House, where we stayed last year when returning from Japan.
