If its Tuesday- its Delft

Sept. 17, 2006 Today we started in Delft where we met up with Vivienne and Maria for lunch. We had these great pancakes which are a specialty for the area; some of us even had the Bill Clinton pancake which is with strawberries and whipped cream (we may have even sat in the same seat as Bill!!). Later, we went to one of the few original process Delft pottery factories and saw how they do their craft. Connie and Fred won the prize with a beautiful, large vase in the gift shop!!!

On the way home, we all stopped in Voorburg at the studio of Frans Kokshoorn. Frans is the Voorburg artist who did the Dutch sculpture, "Singing in the Rain", that we have on the Duck Pond in Temecula. He gave us a great tour and explanation of some of the processes he goes through in producing a piece. It was a real privilege to visit with Frans and our thanks go out to him.
