Hagerman National Monument

We drove out to the Hagerman Fossil Beds on the Snake River. Most fossils are found as the river banks recede.

They have plenty of fishing and water use areas including free "loaner" life vests.

Next we went to the state and national fish hatcheries where they were prepping fingerling steelhead to be returned back to the rivers.

This trailer had a computerized fin clipping process which tell fishermen which fish they can keep.

and some clipping was done by hand...........

Here I am trying to "pet" the sturgeon.

I wonder if they knew I was going to have my first sturgeon that night for dinner??
