kauai bound.......

After a nice flight from LAX to LIH by way of HNL, we stopped at Hamura's local saimin (Hawaiian noodles).

Then we drove up to Princeville and our rental condo at "The Cliffs". We're just short of Hanalei Bay. Its really nice.

The next day we drove to the end of the road- Ke'e Beach and checked out the sights between.Across the road from Ke'e beach was a wet cave.

We ate in Hanalei at a converted old school house- rather unique.

Next we walked the beach at Hanalie Bay.
The mountains around were beautiful...........

great waves for the surfers,
and a Hawaiian girl paddle boarding.A Honu (turtle) surfaced for us.

The next day we drove to Kilauea Lighthouse and national bird sanctuary- for the red footed boobie.
Here the state bird/ goose a Nene' is posing for us.

That night we went to a slack key Hawaiian guitar concert by Doug and Sandy McMaster- it was very informative and really good.
