mainly, Maine and chowder to die for...

July 11, Friday
We left PA with Judy and Paul and drove to Boston for one night as we traveled to the summer home of our friends, Stan and Joanne, in Corea, Maine. Corea is above Bar Harbor on the coast. Stan and I graduated from Downingtown HS a few decades ago.....
We took off to view their part of Acadia NP, but as you can see it was a little foggy. We drove around and hiked some areas that had gorgeous scenes of the coast, ocean and ponds.
For dinner, we had a really, really great seafood chowder- complete with local lobsters and crabs. It was made by Emily, Stan and Joanne's daughter, who is also visiting and she is a chef at the restaurant on the mainline outside Philly. Though she specializes in pastries, she makes an unbelievable chowder- a process I really have to try!!Not all of us were working............
That night, we played pinochle and were happy to teach them California rules........
