Pass the Paso please

November 12, 2006 We are on the road again, but this time to a destination to stay. We are at the Bed and Breakfast called "The Winemakers Porch at Frances James Vineyard in Paso Robles, CA- but, Carol and I are the innkeepers for two weeks, not the guests. We are taking the place of the owners who are Carol's sister and her husband, Corinne and Marlowe. Marlowe is turning 65 young years of age and they are off touring the central and northern coast of Calif. They asked us if we'd like to give it a try and we, of course, said YES!! Its not everyday you can get the chance to be an innkeeper, especially at such a beautiful home, vineyard and locale. Check out their webpage at: www.francesjamesvineyard.com.
We sent them off with a steak dinner accompanied with a bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape, always a great way to start.
Its a lot of pleasurable work, while you work with great people in a wonderful setting- but we have to get up at 6:30 AM!!- yes, that is in the morning!!, we had thought those hours were no longer in our vocabulary, but.........Never say never.
