We traveled to theNorth Shore but no really big waves. This week they are honoring Andy Irons, a great Hawaiian surfer who died recently. It turns out, I taught his father, Phil Irons at Torrance High School and Carol and I saw him surf on Makaha back in the early 70's............
We always stop for garlic shrimp from the "trucks", when on the North Shore.

Oh man! I am so lili [Hawaiian for jealous]. Your photos and descriptions are incredible. I love garlic shrimp on North Shore. And NO surprise you taught the late Andy Irons' dad. Being with you four is like being in a very small world, no matter where you are... you are known. I'm so glad all is well on that side of the planet. Thinking of you all. See you in Italy in May. Ciao amici.
