Temples and shrines, shrines and temples......
April 4, Wednesday This was our last day of touring and boy, did we ever.
We took the subway to Nara- the first ancient capital of Japan. We first stopped at the Nara deer park, followed by Nandalmon Gate and Konbuin Temple.

Next was Todaiji Temple, which has the world's largest Buddha- it is also a World Heritage Site.

We then saw Kofukuji Temple and visited the cheapest used Kimono shop in the world- I think the cheapest was $2, but you could really get a great one for $10 or $20- not much of a market!!
We finished in Nanba and Dotonbori.
That evening Carol and I spent with Hilo and Michiko at their home. We lived close to each other for many years and kept in contact along the way. We had a lot of catching up to do!! We hope to see Michiko in So Cal during June.
